ZN Paddles Adjustment
ZN paddles feature tool-free adjustment mechanisms using knurled screws and nylon bearing balls for smooth, precise operation.
Magnet Tension
The knurled screws positioned nearest the operator control the magnet tension (resistance). Screwing in the magnet screw clockwise toward the lever arm will increase tension. Turning counter-clockwise will decrease tension for a lighter touch.
Contact Gap
The knurled screws positioned farther from the operator control the contact spacing. Screwing in the contact screw decreases the contact gap and lever arm movement. Adjust so you can still hear a slight contact closure when keying.
Straight Key Adjustment
ZN straight keys use a traditional spring mechanism with locking nuts for adjustment, rather than the knurled screws found on paddles. All straight keys include silver contacts and ball bearing movement.
Spring Tension
Adjust the spring tension to achieve your preferred key weight. Loosen the locking nut, adjust the tension screw, then re-tighten the locking nut to secure.
Contact Gap
The contact gap determines the key travel distance. Adjust to your preferred feel - a smaller gap means less travel, while a larger gap provides more key movement.
Maintenance
For optimal performance, periodically clean the contact points using a clean piece of unlined, no gloss white paper. Gently run the paper between the contacts to remove any oxidation or debris.
When running clean paper through the contact points, do not apply excessive pressure that could tear the paper.
